Saturday ride

Hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas, ate way too much
and was generally a lump for the whole week.  Meet at Anglers at
10:30 on Saturday morning.  The weather should be pretty good
for a 'get back in shape' ride.
 
For New Years day.  I know that several guys are planning on doing
the Polar Bear Ride in Greensboro.  Well, here's an alternative for
you to consider.  How about the Danville Doozy ride right here in
good old Danville, Va.  Meet at Robbie's new location on Riverside
Drive, behind Sheets at 10:00.  We'll do a ride of 60, 40 and a 30 or
so miles, ending back at the Bike shop.  If we can work it out there
might be some tomato soup or chili or something warm to eat.  We
might ask you to bring a couple of cans of food for God's Storehouse.
 
Think about it.  Drive to Greensboro, pay them $10.00, ride, drive
back to Danville or do it all right here in big D and help out a worthy
cause.  More info later.

Day after Christmas ride

For all those feeling fat and happy, 50 mile ride, 17+ avg, minimum stopping, leaving Angler's at noon tomorrow. Let's go!

Looks like this will be a perfect weekend to ride.  I have an 8:30 meeting
but I plan on riding from Ballou Park at 10:30.  Probably a 40 - 50 ish
ride at a touring pace. Join me if you can.

40ish mile road bike ride leaving Angler's Sunday at 1:00.  Anyone and everyone interested...come on! Nothing fast...just steady with minimal stopping.  You are stir crazy from the recent weather. Tomorrow is as good as it's going to get until it gets better.  Dang that's deep.

Well, we all knew that this day was coming, Malcolm is now officially
on the injured reserve list.  He will not be able to ride until late in the
spring.  I'm sure it will be rough on Martha when he doesn't get in his
100 mile weekends.
 
Meet at Ballou shopping center Saturday at 10 if the weather is better
by that time.  Forecast is for the showers to end earlier than that. I can't
ride this weekend, so do your own thing and have fun.

for Saturday is 68* with a chance of rain.  We'll be brave and try to
meet at 10am at Mal-Mar unless it's raining.  If it is wet, call Malcolm

Looks like winter is here in full force.  Forecast low on Saturday morning

Well, It's a freeride weekend, Malcolm is in Nashville and I have a
meeting on Saturday.  Meet at Ballou Park Shopping Center at 9:00
and have a great ride!

Special Saturday Ride

Eddie Hedrick invites all COD's, MBG's, RBG's, even the LBS to his house for
a stew on Saturday 10/26.  Meet at Eddies at 11:00 for a ride that will return
to his house just in time to enjoy stew with all the trimm'ins around 4:00.
 
If you can't ride, just arrange to meet us at 4:00

Special Saturday Ride

Eddie Hedrick has invited all COD's to meet at his house at 11:00 for

our Saturday Ride then stay for some of his delicious stew after we 

return from the ride.  If for some reason you cannot ride then plan on

meeting us at Eddie's house about 2:30 - 3:00.  MGB's, RBG's too!

If you ride, be sure to bring a change of clothes.

Tour for Emma

Tour for Emma is this Saturday at 9am at Angler's park in Danville. Routes range from 5 to 61 miles. 

A few folks plan on leaving Vince Yancey's house in Sutherlin (6 miles from Elmo) at 7:30am, ride to Anglers, register and do the 61 mile route, then ride back to get 100 miles. See Vince for more details if anyone is interested.

Lee Cook

I just received a call from Mike Tate.  As you know, Lee Cook

was injured in a fall last week.  He is currently in the hospital at Duke.

He has had two surgeries and is awaiting a third.  Mike said that he 

is paralyzed from the chest down.  It is not known if the paralysis is 

permanent or temporary.

The Agape board is asking for donations for Lee and his family.  They 

will make a donation to the family.  I suggest that we donate $250 to 

Agape for this purpose.

we don't know how to act when it rains.  Looks like it will be raining on Saturday again

It looks like we dodged the bullet this weekend, New England's going to get

all of the snow. (yea) We'll ride from Mal-Mar at 10:00, but be prepared, it's

going to be cold in the morning, about 28* This will be a 'Base Miles Ride'

long and SLOW for us old guy's!

Here we go again, Ice and snow last weekend, 70* on Tuesday and now

it's back in the icebox again for Saturday.  The forecast is for a low of 19

in the morning so, let's meet at Mal-Mar at 11:00 and try to ride.  At least

it's suppose to be partly cloudy and mid 40's.
